A group accumulated outside the court after a jury discovered Tulsa cop Betty Shelby not liable of first-degree homicide in the shooting passing of Terence Crutcher, an unarmed dark man, a year ago. “Bring her out,” the group shouted, alluding to the officer. “No equity, no peace, no bigot police.”
The jury thought for nine hours before declaring its decision. Attendant #22, who was the foreman, was crying as the decision was perused.
Soon after the decision, a little gathering accumulated to dissent the decision.
“You don’t should pass on the grounds that you’re dark,” a youthful white lady shouted outside the court. “We require better preparing for cops!”
Behind her, a gathering of individuals droned “hands up don’t shoot” as they strolled down the avenues.
Shelby, who is white, was accused last September of lawful offense homicide in the shooting of Terence Crutcher, 40.
Police said Crutcher neglected to obey summons, and Shelby affirmed she thought Crutcher was going after something in his SUV.
